Transitions: An Athletic and Life Skills Program was developed in July 1999 because of the need to educate individuals across the life span of the strategies and skills used for successful transitions in life. Individuals already possess the skills that are needed. However, they may be unaware of their own strategies and/or their skills are not fully developed. Through my counseling services and the life skills program, needs of the individual are met by utilizing individual or group counseling sessions, couples, marriage or family counseling, workshops, speaking engagements and/or group/team building exercises with all being provided with personal attention. In 2007, the company name was changed to Transitions Counseling Service and Life Skills Program. Dr. Taunya Marie Tinsley a National Certified Counselor (NCC) and Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) will work with youth, adolescents, young adults and adults. Dr. Tinsley’s primary interest is working with adolescents, college students, young adults, and athletes as well as providing couples, marriage or family counseling. Specifically, Dr. Tinsley’s clinical areas include multicultural counseling, multicultural issues in counseling, multicultural organizational development, spiritual counseling, Christian counseling, psychosocial development issues, and sports counseling.

Our story began as colleagues at a local bereavement center where we facilitated peer support groups for children and adults, at the center and in the community. I see adolescents (13+) and adults in my private practice in Pennsylvania. I currently have late afternoon and weekend availability and accept various forms of insurance, including Highmark Blue Shield, Federal BCBS & Aetna. Please note I am only seeing clients virtually via telehealth platforms. I specialize in treating mood disorders, anxiety disorders, trauma, gender and sexuality concerns, stress, and substance abuse & misuse. After attending Medical School at St. Matthew’s University for three years, Kapil Nayar took a leave of absence to pursue a Master's Degree in the Clinical Counseling Psychology from La Salle University. Kapil pursued his passion for alternative treatment options by obtaining a hypnotherapy certification as well as a mindfulness based stress reduction certification. During his time, Kapil has practiced hypnotherapy and mindfulness based stress reduction in a private practice setting. He has taken this opportunity to obtain information of the effectiveness of both practices in the treatment of various ailments. Since Medical School, Kapil has focused in inpatient and outpatient settings, along with private practice settings. Kapil was a therapist at a major inpatient facility in New Jersey, then ventured to a director role at a large outpatient facility in Pennsylvania. All the while, he was practicing within a private practice as a hypnotherapist and mindfulness based stress reduction leader in New Jersey and surrounding tri-state area. During this time he has developed client management skills while acquiring savvy in analyzing information regarding client outcomes and results post treatment. Kapil has sought out education to further develop his alternative psychodynamic approach to the treatment of clients. He obtained Master's degree in Clinical Counseling Psychology, along with Master's certificate Psychopharmacology, and qualified for licensure as a Professional Counselor, and an Accredited Clinical Supervisor. He now works in a private practice setting with professionals who share his sense of compassion, integrity, willingness to reflect, ‘out of box’ thinking, desire to grow and commitment to change.
