I specialize in working with folks who are curious about or identify as neurodivergent neurospicy, on the spectrum, and/or autistic (especially those who learned of this identify in adulthood), who are looking for support in processing their experiences and/or the trauma and grief that can sometimes accompany being neurodivergent in a world set up for neurotypical people. Being neurodivergent in a neurotypical world can be incredibly draining often leading to burnout with no societal accommodations to recover from that burnout. One might be left feeling less than, othered, like a failure, or broken somehow and don't know why. You are not broken. Here you can cultivate a deeper understanding of yourself in the context of neurodiversity, give yourself space to feel and heal from any harmful messages, and learn how show up in life with a deeper sense of self love and acceptance. I have 20+ years of experience in the mental health field and 7 in my private practice. I believe in deep listening, non-judgmental compassion and empathy. I want to get to know your unique experience in the world and tailor our sessions to the type of support you need. My goal is to learn about you, understand you, and help you grow without forgetting the value you bring to the world just as you are.

I offer holistic therapy to help students escape the veil of anxiety and live with authenticity. Students I work with struggle with complex emotions. Despite being intelligent, hard-working, and having a witty sense of humor, life isn’t all rainbows and sunshine. When they first come to see me, they are exhausted by the never ending loop of “what if” scenarios and often find themselves trying to be perfect or pretend that they "have it all together." If you’re ready to drop anxiety and find self-compassion, I'm your gal. We will work together in reclaiming your inner knowing, finding your voice, and living your most authentic life.

I’m a good fit for students who get trapped in their head—overthinking everything, replaying conversations, second-guessing decisions, or feeling like they can’t relax unless everything is “handled.” You might be high-achieving, but constantly stressed, exhausted, or scared of messing up. Sometimes that turns into procrastination, avoidance, or feeling numb. In therapy, we’ll focus on helping you calm the mental noise, handle stress more effectively, and build confidence in your choices—so school and life don’t feel like a constant emergency.

I have a passion for working with people who want to live more fulfilling lives with a more genuine connection to themselves and others. My clients feel more empowered in their actions and relationships instead of letting their unhelpful thoughts and behaviors take over, while growing a more accepting and compassionate perspective towards themselves. It’s always a good session when my clients feel challenged and motivated to work towards their goals between sessions. I believe that much of the therapy work is completed between sessions just as much as it is in the hour minutes we will spend together each week. As a therapist, I’m not afraid of bearing witness to your pain and fear while finding ways to recognize joy and hope. I truly believe in each of my clients’ ability to grow and change. As an Exposure-based therapist, I’ll encourage you to take steps to approach your fears and reclaim your life. As a woman of color, I am sensitive to the ways that identity and mental health intersect and impact each other. I take an action-oriented and direct approach. Therapy is an investment in YOU, and I value all that my clients put into this work. I aim to “work myself out of a job” with each client, because I know that the goal isn’t to stay in treatment forever– it’s to live happier and healthier lives.

My experience on the other side of the 'couch' has shown me that real change is possible when you make your mental health a priority. It takes courage to ask for support, and you don't have to face life's challenges alone. Therapy provides a safe, supportive space for you to share and process what you’ve been carrying. In our sessions, I’ll use strengths-based approaches, insight-building techniques, and various therapeutic modalities to help you gain a deeper understanding of yourself and achieve your personal goals. My approach to therapy is both conversational and practical (somewhere in the middle of talking to a friend while also getting concrete techniques and insights). I strive to create a safe environment where your story is valued, and you are treated as the expert of your own lived experiences. I specialize in supporting individuals who have a sense of overwhelm, ruminating thoughts, burnout, lack of motivation, disconnected, feeling hopeless and detached, and life transitions. What You Can Expect: - Problem Solving: We'll focus on addressing the issues causing you the most stress right now. - New Understanding: You'll gain clarity on your symptoms, triggers, and responses, making them less intimidating and more manageable. - Tools and Strategies: You'll learn evidence-based techniques to manage overwhelming thoughts and emotions. - Confidence: You'll recognize your strength in handling anxiety, guilt, and sadness, empowering you to take control. Let's take this step toward self-care—I'm here to help.

My passion for this work stems from my own struggles with mental health throughout my life. I know firsthand how important it is to have the proper support. I identify with the LGBTQIA+, kink/BDSM, and poly/ENM communities, so I am familiar with the unique issues facing these marginalized communities, and also the struggle to find a safe space to express your unique self when seeking help. Whether the issues you are seeking therapy for are directly related to your identity or not, you can freely be yourself in our sessions and let your guard down. You will not have to expend the emotional labor to educate me about your identity(ies). I provide a safe space, while clarifying your goals and desired outcome for therapy. I tailor my approach to your unique needs. However you identify, I will meet you where you are at on your personal journey, and together we can work to figure out how you can live your most authentic life. Change does not happen overnight. It requires time, patience, and a willingness to be vulnerable. If you are ready to take the first step today, I would love to hear from you so we can get started! College can be a time of fun and excitement, but it can also be a time of stress and anxiety. I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist here at Village Therapy Practice, LLC who works hard to help clients (individuals, couples, and families) feel heard, understood, and validated. Using a systemic approach, I help each of my clients identify the underlying root cause of their struggles- such as depression, anxiety, adjustment, or relationship issues- and work to change the unhealthy patterns that keep them stuck in conflict. As a Penn State graduate myself (We Are!), I would love the opportunity to walk along students through this important journey!
