Individual therapy sessions are provided for 45-minutes/session, usually scheduled on a weekly basis. These weekly sessions lay the foundation for a strong therapeutic relationship, help with learning new skills, and create important momentum so you can experience relief and reach your therapy goals. We will work together to acknowledge and understand your past experiences and begin to re-affirm your feelings of personal worth. I also provide full and partial psychological evaluations, diagnostic evaluations (ADHD, mood, anxiety, learning, autism, developmental disorders), and educational evaluations. Assessments can be structured to measure social functioning, personality, memory, language, learning, and attention, or to provide diagnostic clarity. Individualized recommendations provided will support and facilitate growth, helping to set the path for success.
Hi, I have been in private practice for the past seven years. Before that I worked in junior-senior high schools, mainly in Rochester, NY. I have worked with many clients with anxiety and depression and have helped many teens stop self-harming behaviors. I have also worked with several college students on dealing with the stressors in their lives as well as trouble with procrastination and organization. I feel that I am relaxed, laid back, and a good listener.
My practice is geared toward teens and young adults. I provide professional cognitive and behavioral therapy (CBT) along with Gestalt therapy. Only during exceptional circumstances would medication management be offered. I always counsel low medication doses and follow up with patients frequently because I like to err on the side of caution. Several years ago I realized I am autistic and now I address issues experienced by people who are autistic/ Asperger's or those who wonder whether they may carry that diagnosis. I also see people with other forms of neurodivergence such as ADHD. Originally I am from Boston and grew up in a working class family with a commitment to political activism.
