Thank you for taking the time to read more about my practice! I started my career working in college counseling centers and continue to enjoy working with students for both therapy and assessment services. In my therapy practice, I use a number of mindfulness based strategies that help with depression, anxiety, performance, attention, and relationships. I also have my 200 hour yoga certification and strongly believe in the importance of mind-body wellness. My assessment practice focuses on ADHD and learning disability diagnoses. I am experienced in providing the needed documentation for students registering with their disability support offices and when taking exams such as the GRE, GMAT, and LSAT.
I work with clients seeking meaningful change—whether that means managing depression, exploring relationship patterns, or navigating substance use recovery. Through a collaborative approach and a variety of therapeutic methods, I help clients reach their goals and create a more fulfilling, balanced life. I believe that talking things through can be powerful. My goal is to help you connect more deeply with yourself, understand what’s holding you back, and build a life that feels meaningful to you. Every person’s story is different, so our work together will always be centered on your unique experiences, strengths, and goals. Starting therapy can feel intimidating, especially when you’re already carrying a lot—but you don’t have to do it on your own. Whenever you’re ready, I’m here to listen and help you find your way forward.
It’s easy to feel stuck or broken when we’ve never had the space to allow all of our emotions, the support to feel them safely, and the perspective to view ourselves with compassion. But when we finally get those things, we get to evolve, grow and change in ways that can be truly profound. My job isn’t to force you to do anything, but to help you learn and build what you’ve needed, so that you can evolve in the ways you want to. If I can count on you to teach me about yourself, about what you feel, and what you're hoping for, you can count on me to listen, and to offer options for how we can pursue your goals. I offer an open approach that includes you in deciding what we do and why, so we can be sure we're working in ways that are both understandable and meaningful to you. So far, this approach has led to clear results for people experiencing PTSD, anxiety, OCD, depression, grief, life transitions, relationship challenges, and recent traumas. As we collaborate, I can provide additional support via methods like EMDR, IFS, EAET, mindfulness, exposure, and body-based therapies. Call or email any time.
Oh college, it's "supposed" to be the best days of your life...whoever came up with that needs a serious reality check. I've been through it and have also worked with enough college students, young adults, and adults of all ages to say that for many of us, that statement is completely false. So please know that if you find that these are not the best days (or even if you feel that these are the worst days), you are not alone. There is nothing "wrong" with you and I am here to help. I unfortunately don't have a magic wand to transform your college experience into something you see in the movies, but I provide a combination of medication management and brief supportive therapy (a fancy way of saying I include some therapy during our 30 minute medication follow up appointments) that can help address concerns like depression, anxiety, obsessive thoughts, and mood disorders. I’ll work with you to create a personalized plan that meets your unique needs and helps you achieve your mental health goals. Talking about medication can be daunting. When I prescribe it, my goal isn’t to change who you are, but to help you rediscover what life can be like when your symptoms are managed. While medication won’t solve every issue, it can be a powerful tool alongside therapy and lifestyle changes, enabling you to reclaim your ability to thrive.
College can be fun and extremely challenging at the same time. It is a major step in your life and it comes with many new life transitions and independence! Many students I work with experience anxiety, stress, and feelings of overwhelm as they navigate academic pressures, social changes, and personal development. They may also struggle with issues related to self-esteem, identity, and relationships. Students often benefit from a supportive and understanding environment where they can explore their feelings, develop coping strategies, and build resilience. My approach focuses on helping students gain clarity, build confidence, and create a balanced and fulfilling college experience. By addressing their specific needs and experiences, I aim to empower students to overcome challenges and achieve their goals.

Avita iCare, is a boutique group practice with an emphasis on the reduction of anxiety, depression, interpersonal conflicts, and other self-defeating patterns of thinking and behaving. We are unique in that we effectively integrate cognitive, psychophysiological, psychodynamic, and psychospiritual models in support of our patients’ goals of comprehensive wellbeing. In psychotherapy, we work to strengthen our patient’s ability to cope with everyday hassles, manage more serious psychological conditions, gain self-awareness and meaning to their life. From the point of psychophysiological changes, we employ empirically-supported interventions, such as Biofeedback, to achieve measurable and sustainable results in strengthening patients’ autonomic self-regulation and improving their recovery from stress.
People come to me for support with worries, mood difficulties, adjustment to life changes, identity exploration or relationship issues, and to learn ways to both change and adapt. Whatever brings you to this process at this time, it’s important that you find someone you can develop a sense of safety and trust with in order to bring your full, authentic self to the work. The therapeutic connection is a huge part of successful therapy, so my work is first and foremost relational in nature, through which I help you define your goals and together develop a plan to meet them.
My approach is down-to -earth and professional. I believe in the importance of humor and self compassion in our time together. Being transparent in therapy is crucial; meaning I will share with you why I am asking about certain things or suggesting certain ways of coping. You will find I am easy to talk to and respect how important our time together is. I have 23 years of experience in the mental health field working with people's symptoms of anxiety, stress and depression. Much of that time has been specializing in working with college students and people looking to go into helping professions (e.g. nurses, therapists, doctors)
