I also enjoy working with concerns related to alcohol use, intergenerational trauma, adjustment issues, and acculturation. Many of my clients have included individuals belonging to the following communities: College/graduate students, Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC), Spanish/Spanglish-speakers, immigrants, children of immigrants, international students, first-generation students, LGBTQIA+ folx, and members of fandom communities (e.g. anime, K-pop, book series, etc.). As a proud "nerdy psychologist," I truly value getting to know my clients' salient identities, passions, hobbies, and background to be able to integrate them into our work. If you are wanting to get support in navigating life in a way that feels authentic to you, then we are on the same page. I strive to co-create a therapeutic experience based on trust, genuineness, and empowerment. My personal identities include: child of immigrants, millennial, cis woman, queer, & mostly able bodied. I find joy in working with: fat/larger bodied folks, the global majority/children of immigrants, & 2SLGBTQIA+. I found that navigating both my culture and what society expected of me was in a lot of ways harmful to my mental health and safety. I continue to go on my own journey of therapy, finding safe community and exploring my own biases. I often watch anime, play video games, board games, and love to bring those into session if appropriate. The topics, tools and space we create together are to support your exploration. Our clinical space will be filled with self compassion so that we can integrate your mind, body, and soul in healing relationships with your own body and others. Through my living/ed experience as a fat person of color, I welcome conversations about intersectionality and systemic oppression. I have spent the majority of my career supporting people of color navigate through different phases of life, especially in college years. We will explore safety in the body, grounding, expressing complex thoughts/feelings, family dynamics and patterns that may or may not serve you anymore. My hope is that you’ll gain a deeper understanding of yourself, celebrate who you are, and recognize the tools you have to support your wellness. My clinical approach: fat liberation, anti-racist, intersectional lens, and sex positive.
I help individuals enhance their mental health. My approach is based on the premise that nutrition, physical activity, and how we recover are foundational to our well-being. We will optimize your life with thoughtful prescriptions, psychotherapy, nutritional and supplement counseling, and prescriptive exercise.
Change is not linear. I have come to understand the numerous challenges in life that can make you feel as if you have gone nowhere. The anxiety that sets in is alarming and the depression that may later consume you feels debilitating. However, I have also come to understand the impact that we have on our own suffering: how we often jump to "I can't" instead of "I can try." We have all found ourselves deep in self-doubt, feeling stuck in the symptoms of depression and anxiety. Are you looking for a chance to see how change and success can become more linear overtime? My approach can help you get there. My early experience with Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) has allowed me to mold the foundations of DBT with other empirically supported treatments (MI, CBT) to fit the needs of my clients. A combination of skill use, gentle challenging of core beliefs and thought distortions, as well as strengths recognition has proven effective with a variety of clients. My ultimate goal as a therapist is to provide a supportive environment that serves as a safe space for you to challenge yourself. I assist my clients in developing a natural reaction of "radical acceptance" in an effort to decrease overall suffering. Together, we can create a mindset that helps you to see your own strengths in any given situation.

We understand the importance to have someone you can talk to and gain a new perspective on struggles on your life experience and struggles. difficult life transition, stress and anxiety, depression, relationships, or traumatic experiences they seem overwhelming difficult to get away from. There’s never a bad time to seek helpful support, and to learn practice using the coping skills and strategies that will help you thrive.
I became a therapist because I genuinely want to provide a space for people to show up just as they are. You don’t need to feel a certain way, say anything specific, or meet any goal on my timeline. When we can sit back and accept ourselves as we are, we begin to hear things we couldn’t while trying to fix or fight parts of ourselves. I believe even the most challenging parts of us have protective purposes—they deserve curiosity, not shame. I work from a place of intuition and connection more than a strict model or method. I believe in being direct and encouraging you to take the risk of getting uncomfortable. At the same time, I’ll meet you with real empathy, patience, and compassion—plus a bit of humor or lightness when it feels right. Finding the right therapist is hard—especially one who truly sees your full, authentic self. If anything you’ve read resonates, I’d love to connect. Reach out for a free consultation and we can see if this is the space you’ve been looking for.
As a play therapist with six years of experience, I help children, adolescents, and express their feelings in alternative ways without limiting their ability to share their feelings. I believe in empathy at all times, which helps me be your compassionate partner in care. I look forward to identifying your strengths in our work together. With a focus on talk and play therapy, I take an individualized, empathic, and authentic approach to care. I'm passionate about meeting patients where they are and working from there to help them share their feelings and better express themselves. This growth takes place in an open and welcoming environment, with a person-oriented style tailored to your unique perspective and experiences. My path to becoming a therapist began when a coworker sought me out for advice about an interaction she had, wanting additional support to discuss her options and ultimately make a decision she felt was in her best interest. This experience deepened my commitment to providing focused care and attention to each individual, and I bring that same individualized treatment to every patient I work with today. In my spare time, I love getting lost in a good book!
Drawing from 10+ years of clinical experience, I use a solution-focused approach to teach skills to overcome worry, depression, anger, stress, guilt, low self-esteem, sleep issues, relationship struggles, and parenting challenges. My clients and I work on improving their wellness and their lives by exploring helpful solutions, perspectives, and habits.
I help diverse populations, including individuals, families, and couples, navigate relationship challenges, trauma, addiction, self-esteem, and emotional struggles. My style is warm and engaging, utilizing an integrative, humanistic, and emotionally focused approach to support you in understanding patterns, building resilience, and creating healthier ways of relating to yourself and others. I’m passionate about the belief that healing happens through safe connection, self-compassion, and understanding our emotional experiences. If you’re looking to feel more understood, grounded, and connected to the life you desire, please reach out today. I believe in meeting people with compassion and curiosity, which helps me be a steady, supportive partner in your healing. You don’t have to have it all figured out to begin. Working together, you are empowered to start putting the pieces together in a collaborative and welcoming space, with therapy tailored to your unique story, values, and goals. I use emotionally focused and integrative approaches to help you feel safer, more connected, and more confident. After years working in higher education, and having lost people in my community to addiction, I felt called to help people more deeply, especially communities facing barriers, so they can heal and reach their full potential. I’ve seen firsthand the cultural and religious stigma around mental health, and I wanted to help people feel less alone and more willing to seek support. I continue to believe therapy can be preventive, not just a last resort, and am dedicated to being a source of safety and hope for those in need. I enjoy activities that allow me to connect with others, explore new places, and stay active and balanced. That’s why you’ll often find me in the great outdoors going on hikes and hitting the ski trails or cozied up at home baking and practicing yoga. I also love spending time with family and friends and traveling to new states and countries.
I help self-aware overthinkers break free from old patterns and learn to trust themselves more deeply. My clients are often insightful, motivated, and may have been in therapy before, but still find themselves stuck in cycles of overwhelm, self-doubt, people-pleasing, and overthinking. Through our work, you'll learn to trust your own voice, show up authentically in your relationships, and finally feel at home — koselig — in your own skin. Many of my clients grew up in homes where their physical needs were met, but their emotional experiences were minimized, dismissed, or misunderstood. As a result, they learned that their feelings were "too much" and became disconnected from their own emotional world. As adults, they often struggle with anxiety, rumination, self-trust, and maintaining healthy, authentic relationships. They may appear capable and self-aware on the outside while feeling disconnected from themselves on the inside. I believe many of the patterns that once helped you survive are now keeping you from fully being yourself. Rather than judging or fighting those patterns, we'll approach them with curiosity and compassion, helping you reconnect with the parts of yourself that have been buried beneath fear, doubt, and old expectations. You don't need to keep abandoning yourself to belong. I'd love to journey alongside you as you come home to who you've been all along— and feel confident, connected, and koselig in your own skin.

My name is Ben Lotstein, and I’m a Marriage and Family Therapist Candidate (MFTC) based out of Fort Collins, CO. I’ve had the pleasure of working with individuals, couples, and families for the past six years in outpatient, in-home, and wilderness settings. I received my Master’s of Science in Human Development and Family Studies with a specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy from Colorado State University. In addition to working in private practice, I have the honor of serving as the Associate Director of the Aging Clinic of the Rockies at Colorado State University. When I’m not in the office, you might find me out biking, spending time with my wife and dog, meditating, or watching a good movie. I work with individuals and couples seeking to overcome stress, anxiety, and depression in order to get something more out of life. I’ll help you tap into your natural ability to move through challenges to a more balanced and fulfilling way of living. Whether you are in a long-term, committed relationship or just starting one, the work we'll do will support you in moving beyond conflicts and emotional disconnection to a more intimate, loving relationship. I’m so glad that you’ve made your way here, and I’d love to connect to see how I can support you moving forward in your process.
"I can't find meaning in life" ... "I don't know how to be real with myself or those around me" ... "I don’t feel connected to my partner anymore." Everyone wants to feel connected. We yearn to feel we belong and have meaning in who we are and what we do. Yet, it is not always that easy. I get it. However, I believe therapy can be a space for us to work together on finding meaning and developing the relationships you want. That is why I am here. To see you, to hear your voice, to understand your story, and to walk alongside you to get to where you want to go. Above all else, I believe in utilizing a bio-psycho-social-spiritual approach to counseling to understand all of who you are--your thoughts, feelings, somatic experiences, desires, beliefs, and relationships. This way, you can become more aligned with your heart, mind, and body, working together to achieve your goals. In addition, I believe in using your values, purpose, and "why's" to help you align what you are doing and want to do with why you want to do it. As Friedrich Nietzsche states, "He who has a why to live can bear almost any how."

I believe that in order to truly be able to help my clients I must always present as my authentic self. What that means is that you can expect me to share my honest thoughts and opinions, to be direct & concise, to incorporate humor as often as possible, and I won’t shy away from discomfort or conflict. While at the same time balancing that by providing you with unconditional positive regard, empathy, and support. I 100% believe that in order for therapy to be effective the client-therapist relationship must be genuine and both parties must carry mutual respect and trust for each other. This is something I strive to create and build-up starting from our first several interactions; as well as something I work hard to maintain up until our very last session. I am trauma informed therapist that specializes in working with professionals in the helping field (ie. first responders, educators, nurses, therapists, etc), with parents and children with behavioral issues, and have extensive experience working with BIPOC, immigrants, and AAPI communities. In our first session, we'll talk through what brought you in and get clear on what you want to walk away with — so we're aligned on what this space is for and what my role will be. Together we'll build a plan with intention and direction, not open-ended sessions that drift. Over time, the goal isn't just to feel less anxious or triggered. It's to trust yourself again, hold your story with compassion, and move through the world without needing to translate yourself.
