Therapists for college students near Denver, CO
Are you your own worst critic? You are the first one to point out your faults, and a part of you continues to feel like you’re not doing enough. Do you put the needs of others before your own - feeling that sick-to-your-stomach guilt when saying “no”? Do you find yourself escaping in work, hobbies, and relationships to avoid sitting with your thoughts and feelings? If these feel familiar, I am with you, and I would love to be a support for you. Let’s quiet that inner critic that can be so very loud, and make space for a voice with a bit more kindness. Let's work together towards more self-trust, self-compassion and self-esteem. I take a very relational approach to therapy. I want our time to feel like an exhale - a space where you can show up as you are, share openly, & feel understood. I enjoy bringing my personality into the space with humor and shared interests. Clients who work with me share that I am warm, thoughtful and compassionate, while also creating a space for growth. If you are interested in working together, please reach out for a free consultation. Don't see your concern listed in my profile? Let's chat and explore whether we would be a good match in working together.
When you’re the type of person who “shows up” for everyone else, it can be hard to admit you’re burned out. Helping is how you’ve learned to cope, connect and stay safe. I treat depression, anxiety, and burnout for people (15 years and older) who are too busy pleasing others to help themselves. My clients often find themselves having sudden health issues or lack of concentration and get into an identity crisis! "Who am I if I can't pull off miracles every day?!?" I offer a combination of psychotherapy and art therapy, which works well for people who don’t know where to start. I also integrate financial therapy into sessions because money issues are often unspoken roadblocks to personal growth. Art therapy is for all ages, and I primarily work with teens and adults. If a little part of you did a cartwheel when you read “art therapy”, it just might be a good fit for you. If another little part of you also got scared and nervous, that’s completely normal. You won't be judged about talent or skill, it's really about the process, not the product. Many clients have big new insights into their lives by working with images. When you've been running on empty, it's time to fill your tank. I'm a recovered pleaser too!
The clients who tend to do best with us are people who are looking for support that fits their individual needs while still allowing them to live at home and stay connected to their everyday lives. Many are feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or emotionally drained and are looking for guidance and structure to help them feel more stable. We provide weekly individual therapy, medication management, and a structured Intensive Outpatient Program, allowing clients to receive the level of care that best matches where they are. We work with children, adolescents, and adults who may be experiencing anxiety, mood changes, trauma, stress, or difficulty coping with daily challenges. Our program is a good fit for people who are open to participating in therapy, learning practical coping skills, and working collaboratively with a treatment team. Clients do not need to have everything figured out, just a willingness to engage and take steps toward feeling better. If you or your family are looking for flexible, comprehensive mental health care that can grow and change with your needs, our program may be a good fit.

College life and young adulthood is an exciting AND challenging stage of life! The thrill of independence is countered by the weight of adult responsibilities, the excitement of relationships also comes with challenges, and hopes for the future can be weighed down by current stressors and unresolved issues from the past. I love working with young adults as they navigate new challenges, heal from past wounds, and work towards a meaningful future. I work with clients using traditional talk therapy approaches and a modality called Brainspotting, which incorporates mindfulness, body awareness, and acceptance. Together, these interventions are helpful for a wide range of emotional issues.

Your stress has been building for FAR too long; you can't remember the last time you weren’t so overwhelmed or anxious. You can't stand how irritable you’ve become, especially around those you love. Your go-to de-stressors just aren't cutting it anymore - or it's a struggle to use them, and you’re growing tired of your own procrastination, rumination, and withdrawing from others. You want to be more present in your life & relationships. You want to feel like your old self again - or a new, calmer self - on a path of continued growth and success. I can help by co-creating a brave & safe space and validating you - especially when it feels like no one understands. With Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), we can help you feel quick relief from prior traumas and distresses, eliminate triggers, and move forward feeling lighter and calmer. We'll rebuild coping skills for relief now & prevention later. I'll challenge you (with care), offer accountability, and use your strengths to help you meet your goals. Ideally, we'll also laugh together and connect as humans. Prior to private practice, I worked at colleges and universities for 14 years, supporting students in times of stress and help them be successful. I am passionate about supporting and guiding individual adults aged 18+ of all identities through: Anxiety Life transitions Career or education challenges Grief and loss Well-being, personal growth goals Conflicts Trauma You're struggling now and contacting therapists only to then wait for responses is frustrating. I do free, confidential phone consults to make sure that I can be of help to you before you commit to a counseling session. Skip the waiting and take another step toward relief now by scheduling a consult directly on my website.
I am a good fit for clients who are seeking an active therapist. I work well with clients who are motivated for self-exploration and behavioral change. I believe therapy offers clients an opportunity to explore discomfort, emotional pain, and discover how to live more authentically. During college years, living away from home often for the first time can be challenging. Introduction to new theories and perspectives as well as people from different backgrounds can be anxiety provoking, shaking up what was previously thought to be "truths." Many college students find themselves reworking their sense of self, wanting to become their best most authentic self.

I identify as a Togolese immigrant, daughter, sister, fur-mom, and wife in an interracial marriage. These identities influence how I show up as a therapist and constantly evolve each day. The challenges I have faced have given me both the insight and desire to work with individuals, couples, and families through their hurdles and to help them find what is and isn’t their story. I believe in the idea of assisting individuals, couples & families of different backgrounds to find their path instead of feeling stuck and tied down to societal expectations or their past maladaptive patterns. Due to the unique makeup of our world, I use an integrative approach with my clients; this allows me to use modalities that best suit the need of my clients. I value providing warmth, kindness, empathy, and directness when needed. I hope this little bio reflects my passion for working with humans of all different backgrounds and the depth of sacredness I hold for being a part of your stories.
