Therapists for college students near Philadelphia, PA
My name is Brittany Biddle. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. I am currently based out of two different offices. I work in the Dittmar Counseling Office in Greensburg, PA and I also work for Michael Stephen's, PHD office in North Huntington, PA. I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as well as Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. I work with children, adolescents and adults of all ages.
I have always enjoyed connecting with people and learning about their experiences. I knew I wanted to go into the field when I was a senior in high school. From that point on, my education and training have centered on being the best therapist I can be. I have worked in hospitals, schools, and mental health agencies to gain a variety of experiences and expertise. From working in different settings, I knew I had a natural inclination to help my clients feel at ease and make therapy not only helpful but enjoyable.Since I have experienced therapy, I know what it is like to be on the other side. I appreciate a nonjudgmental approach with kindness and humor sprinkled in at the appropriate times. I believe therapy does not have to be serious all the time. Growth comes from support, understanding, and compassion.

I know that making the decision to seek help can bring up difficult feelings, which is why as a therapist I seek to create an honest, authentic, and supportive relationship with my clients. By creating a sense of safety with one another we can work together to address your most immediate concerns, while simultaneously using our time as an opportunity to develop a deeper relationship with yourself and your experiences. I practice from an Existential-Integrative perspective, incorporating elements from psychodynamic, interpersonal and experiential techniques in my work with clients. This approach extends beyond your symptoms and into an exploration of what it means for you to live a fulfilling life, as well as what may be holding you back. Wellness is experienced differently by everyone and together we can explore what it means for you to live well and begin the process of working towards that together. I have experience working with those struggling with experiences of depression, anxiety, and interpersonal concerns.

Transitions: An Athletic and Life Skills Program was developed in July 1999 because of the need to educate individuals across the life span of the strategies and skills used for successful transitions in life. Individuals already possess the skills that are needed. However, they may be unaware of their own strategies and/or their skills are not fully developed. Through my counseling services and the life skills program, needs of the individual are met by utilizing individual or group counseling sessions, couples, marriage or family counseling, workshops, speaking engagements and/or group/team building exercises with all being provided with personal attention. In 2007, the company name was changed to Transitions Counseling Service and Life Skills Program. Dr. Taunya Marie Tinsley a National Certified Counselor (NCC) and Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) will work with youth, adolescents, young adults and adults. Deciding to make the decision to go to therapy isn't always easy. It often can be difficult to know where to start. I can understand this. If you are someone who has been feeling lost, stuck, anxious, or depressed- you're in the right place. Maybe you have felt all of the above? Maybe you're someone looking for better tools to manage stress, understand your emotions or communicate with others. A typical session is based on your treatment plan. Sessions are meant to be a non-judgmental space where you are free to come as you. A place where you feel seen, heard, and valued. As a licensed professional counselor, I work with individuals of all ages struggling with anxiety, depression, addiction, and trauma. I specialize in treating folks with trauma using EMDR. I also have 3 years of experience treating alcohol and substance abuse disorders. Prior to my work as a therapist, I worked in community mental health for 5 years. Regardless of what you are going through or what you have been through. I understand the thought of asking yourself" what do I do next?" Asking for help is a small act of courage. I invite you to reach out (phone or email) and connect to see if we might be a good fit.
