I am a therapist and licensed social worker with experience working with trauma, mood, and anxiety disorders. I have experience working with children, adolescents, and adults. As a therapist, my mission is to create a warm and safe environment and to empower clients to use the tools they learn in therapy to make the changes they wish to see in their lives
Feeling like you need a safe space? Maybe you've felt pressured to hide parts of yourself and have struggled to connect with others, or you feel isolated and misunderstood. Perhaps your emotions feel overwhelming or difficult to manage, or it's hard to feel present when you are around other people. If you are struggling, you do not have to do it alone! I work with ADHD, autism, depression, anxiety, and trauma. It can be hard to adjust to college life and even harder to navigate if you need accommodations or are struggling with your mental health. In therapy, I can help you better understand your emotions and learn practical strategies to find relief and cope with challenges. I can also help you with paperwork if you need accommodations at school. I am licensed in New York and Oregon. I can work with you if you are in either of those states or if you travel back and forth for school and breaks.
Early adulthood comes with a lot of pressure — to perform, to please, to have it all figured out. If you're constantly saying yes to everyone else while quietly losing touch with yourself, that exhaustion is real. And you don't have to keep pushing through it alone. I work with young adults navigating anxiety, depression, burnout, and people-pleasing patterns that have stopped serving them. My approach is grounded in the mind-body connection — because stress and disconnection don't just live in your head, they show up physically too. Together we'll get to the roots of what's keeping you stuck and build practical tools for boundaries, self-trust, and actually feeling like yourself again. You don't have to settle for just getting by. Reach out — let's build something that actually feels like yours. *Insurance & Fees* I am in-network with Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Northwell Direct, and Quest Behavioral Health. For all other major insurance companies, I am an out of network provider. My office provides a superbill for you to submit for reimbursement and we will assist you in verifying your benefits to make the process as seamless as possible. I also offer a sliding scale rate for those in need. Please reach out to learn more about how we can work together.
Most of my clients are the ones who hold it all together. Thoughtful, capable, high-achieving — and quietly overwhelmed. If anxiety, OCD, or old patterns are running the show beneath the surface, and you're ready to actually do something about it, this is a space for that. I blend CBT, DBT, psychodynamic, and trauma-informed approaches — not a one-size-fits-all formula, but a mix built around what you actually need. We build concrete skills for managing anxiety in real life while also getting to the root of the patterns keeping you stuck. You don't have to keep carrying the mental load alone. Reach out today — let's move past getting by and build something that actually holds. *Insurance & Fees* I am in-network with Aetna and Northwell Direct. Hey there, I'm Keyaira Hamilton, a Clinical Resident with Living Purpose Mental Health Counseling. I am currently in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at Northwestern University pursuing a Masters in Counseling. Navigating life’s transitions and distressing experiences can be emotionally, mentally, and physically overwhelming. If life came with a manual, navigating its unpredictable chapters would be far less overwhelming. But we sometimes find ourselves at a crossroads, not knowing which way to go. As a Clinical Resident, I offer a sacred and compassionate space where we don’t have to face these experiences alone. I specialize in holding a safe space for those journeying through trauma, anxiety, depression, and identity-related challenges. Grounded in inclusivity, exploring inner narratives, reactional dynamics, and building the tools to promote resonance and self- discovery. My approach emphasizes an integrative care, incorporating culturally responsive, mindfulness-based practices, in a judgement-free environment and taking into consideration your struggles and concerns regarding the mind-body connection. I want to honor each of your lived experiences to encourage openness, reflection, and healing. When you're ready, I will be here to walk alongside you
Hi! I’m Alexandra—your partner in healing and growth. When I was little, I used to say I wanted to be a “Feelings Doctor.” I didn’t know exactly what that meant, but I knew I wanted to help people feel better—emotionally and mentally. I started college at 16 and initially pursued pre-med, but I quickly realized that the clinical world wasn’t where I felt most at home. What truly called to me was connecting with people, understanding their stories, and helping them heal from the inside out. I grew up in one of the poorest areas of Colombia, and those early experiences taught me the power of resilience, community, and hope. I saw how vital emotional support is when life gets hard—and that’s what led me to psychology. It gave me the tools to do what I’ve always wanted: walk alongside others as they navigate life’s challenges and rediscover their strength. As a licensed mental health counselor, I specialize in helping people manage anxiety, depression, OCD, ADHD, insomnia, and more. I’m trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and I work with children, teens, and adults. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or just not like yourself, I’m here to help you find clarity, confidence, and calm. Outside of therapy, I’m a runner (yes, I run for fun!), a guitar enthusiast, and a sci-fi lover—currently reading Parable of the Sower by Octavia Butler. I love dancing with friends, cooking while video chatting with my family back home, and traveling whenever I can. These moments of connection—whether across a kitchen or across continents—remind me of the joy and strength we find in togetherness. I speak both English and Spanish fluently, and I’m passionate about creating a safe, inclusive space where you can be fully yourself. Healing isn’t always easy—but you don’t have to do it alone. I’d be honored to walk this path with you.
Are you looking to be understood? Do you feel stuck in a loop that you can’t seem to get out of? Are you wanting to build a relationship with your mind, body or soul, so that you can feel more at home within yourself? This is what therapy is about in the sessions I have with my clients. Whether you need EMDR to process some heavy trauma, or CBT to jump out of negative thought loops. Maybe you need IFS to connect with different parts of yourself, break things down. Or perhaps, some art therapy to bring out the joy that’s been missing. Breath work and body work can be combined to any approach we take. I have thorough training in multiple therapeutic techniques, and create a unique blend that aligns to you and your life context. At the center of our work together, is you. This is your space. I cannot fix you, I cannot heal you. But I can guide you. I can help facilitate your healing process, help you reveal and use the power to heal you already posses, however deep it may be buried. We can also create new tools together, ones that truly align with who you are as a person so that they feel natural, and as easy to use as your diaphragm is for breathing. As your therapist, we will explore your inner world together, and how that inner world is impacted by and communicates with the external world you’re in. Our work will be done within a space of humanity and true understanding. If or when you feel ready to begin, I look forward to working with you.

My ideal client is someone who feels stuck, perhaps overwhelmed by anxiety, navigating the weight of past experiences, or struggling to find meaning and direction in their present life. They might be grappling with difficult emotions, feeling disconnected from themselves or others, or facing challenges in their relationships. Their needs center around feeling understood, validated, and empowered. They long for a safe and non-judgmental space to explore their inner world, to make sense of their experiences, and to develop healthier coping mechanisms. They need support in identifying their strengths and in fostering a greater sense of self-awareness and self-compassion. Their goals often involve reducing their distress, improving their relationships, increasing their self-esteem, and living a more authentic and fulfilling life. They want to feel more in control of their emotions, to break free from patterns that no longer serve them, and to connect with their values and purpose. Ultimately, they want to feel a greater sense of peace, joy, and agency in their lives. I specialize in creating a warm and collaborative therapeutic environment where you can explore your thoughts and feelings without judgment, and I tailor our work together to your unique needs and goals. I offer space to delve into the roots of your challenges, understand the patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and develop new perspectives and skills to navigate life’s complexities. My aim is to empower you to gain deeper insight into yourself, cultivate inner resources, and move towards greater well-being and personal growth. It takes courage to reach out for support, and if you’re reading this, you’ve already taken a significant step. If any of this resonates with your own experience, please know that you don’t have to navigate these challenges alone. I offer a confidential and supportive space where we can work together to understand your struggles and explore pathways towards healing and growth. If you’re feeling ready to take that next step, I invite you to reach out. I’d be glad to learn more about what you’re going through and discuss how I might be able to help.

Mental health care should encompass more than just the alleviation of symptoms. That’s why, as a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner, I value a holistic, participatory approach to care that considers the whole person, including social, emotional, physical, and spiritual aspects of well-being. Drawing on psychiatric experience across acute inpatient hospitals, eating disorder residential facilities, and outpatient care, I help adult and adolescent clients develop healthy coping skills, build resilience, and achieve lasting personal growth and emotional stability. My goal is to help each individual struggling with mood, anxiety, and/or eating disorders not just manage their symptoms, but truly thrive. I take a patient-centered approach in my practice, creating treatment plans that are tailored to your unique needs and goals. Through this recovery-focused care, I place great emphasis on empowering you to take an active role in your recovery journey while building on your strengths, skills, and resilience. From beginning of treatment to continuing care, you can trust in me to create a safe environment that fosters healing and provides you with the tools you need to move forward on a healthier path. I look forward to helping you feel understood, build resilience, and take meaningful steps toward lasting well-being in our work together. My journey to becoming a psychiatric nurse practitioner began by witnessing firsthand the challenges of navigating a complex mental health care system and the stigma attached to seeking help. Because of these experiences, I am dedicated to making mental health care more approachable and supportive for others.
Seeking therapy or counseling can be overwhelming, but reaching out for support in life can lead to positive change. While it’s not possible to change what has happened in the past or things beyond one’s control, I believe that every individual can work toward a better understanding of themselves and learn coping strategies to manage challenges and change. As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), CASAC-Advanced Counselor (CASAC-AC), and Certified Anger Management Specialist-II (CAMS-II), I work with adults, adolescents, couples, and families to reduce symptoms of distress and build the capability to handle life’s inevitable demands and anxieties. My expertise includes substance use treatment, community residence programs, and private practice, as well as facilitating group and individual sessions with children, adolescents, and families in school and mental health settings. As a therapist, I aim to support you in feeling a sense of relief, if only for a short time, and to explore a deeper understanding of yourself. Such moments are important and extremely valuable. My therapeutic approach is eclectic and based on your individual needs, using a mix of approaches to help you realize these moments, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Mindfulness therapy. At all times, trust that your concerns will be discussed in a safe and judgement-free environment that emphasizes both symptom reduction and skills development to manage life’s inevitable challenges. We’ll work together to help you in identifying and reframing unhelpful thinking patterns, understanding emotional responses, and cultivating the motivation and clarity needed to pursue your personal goals.
