Hello, some of my strengths include identifying and cultivating strengths in others, giving language to complex feelings, detangling complex issues and finding paths to wholeness. My goal in therapy is to support others to reach their personal goals and even help them identify what those may be if they are unsure. My ideal Patient is motivated to change and open to trying various techniques. I'm dual licensed in the States of Massachusetts and Illinois and provide only Teletherapy. I've been in clinical practice since 2013, yet have 20 years of experience through mentoring young adults. One of my strongest areas of expertise is healing from trauma, of all kinds. What I often find in practice are Patients unaware of neglect and abandonment that they have lived through. I support Patients in identifying pain, creating space to grieve and heal, and creating a new way to experience life alive.
We have a range of therapists, in age and skill/training, who love to help young adults with questions around identity, trauma, addiction, anxiety. We want to support people in becoming healthier and happier, through creating sustainable change. https://katrinashepardlicsw.com/
As a therapist, I partner with you to make sense of your story. Through this work, we often discover together that what’s happening for you in the present makes perfect sense given what you’ve lived through so far and the forces that have shaped you. With this understanding, you can more easily access softness toward yourself and others, and even find other ways of being. I primarily practice from relational psychodynamic and trauma perspectives, drawing from neurodevelopmental, family systems, and body-based frames as appropriate. As a social worker, I am attuned to the ways that systems of power and oppression contribute to experiences of mental health.

College is a challenge, on its own, in many ways. It can cause significant stress as well as trigger new or exacerbate existing mental health symptoms. Having space to work through the stress or symptoms you are experiencing can be incredibly beneficial (e.g. reduced stress, increased happiness, decrease in symptoms and/or severity, etc.), which can contribute to greater success and a greater overall experience during these years. I believe in creating a safe, supportive, nonjudgmental, and confidential therapy space that respects all identities and backgrounds where people can feel free to be their most authentic selves. I strive for people to feel comfortable in letting go of filters that tend to restrict them in honest disclosure and deep processing of their experiences. Thank you for taking the time to read about the practice and considering Sage Serenity Counseling. Please reach out if you have questions or would like to get started. I am ready to support you whenever you are ready!
I work with students who are feeling overwhelmed, anxious, burned out, or struggling to keep up with school, work, and personal responsibilities. Many of the people I see are dealing with anxiety, depression, ADHD, or the stress of major life transitions. Some are high achievers who feel constant pressure to perform, while others feel stuck, unmotivated, or unsure about their direction. If this sounds familiar, you’re not alone, and support is available. I offer a collaborative, nonjudgmental space where we can work together to help you feel more balanced, focused, and confident. Reach out to schedule a consultation and see if we’re a good fit.

I consider myself fortunate to be able to work in a profession that I truly love and I consider a privilege to be invited into my clients' inner lives, and to travel this journey with them through healing, change, and self-empowerment. When painful things happen in our lives, we do our best to cope with it in the moment. That might mean we get really good at “just dealing with it,” and “toughing it out.” Maybe we get really good at “checking out,” or maybe we become super skilled at coming up with clever ways to altogether avoid triggering situations. At one point in time, these skills served you well. And maybe they don’t any longer. Often, underneath these patterns anxiety and depression flood every day, drowning out our resources and making life difficult to enjoy. But changing these patterns and finding new hope can seem like an impossible feat. So often we know something is off because of what we feel in our bodies. Your heart starts pounding, that turning in your stomach, breathing feels tight, maybe you feel disconnected. The key to finding relief is not just about thinking differently. I am a Registered Dance/Movement Therapist and offer body-based techniques for approaching these issues. When we can tune into our bodies as well as our thoughts, we can begin to take control of our lives. I believe that you ultimately know what’s best for your own life. Sometimes it can feel scary to start therapy. What I usually tell my clients is “you’re in the driver’s seat.” I’m the copilot and have a map, and can point things out that maybe you didn’t see from your vantage point. Let’s figure this out together. Call or email for a free consultation.
Greetings, I am an 11 year Marine Corps veteran (2003 to 2014), experienced in working with anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance use disorders. My main approach is person centered with a spattering of CBT, ACT, and REBT. Feel free to chat with me a bit and see if we work well together. I completed my master's in mental health counseling at Cambridge College in 2022, worked in a psychiatric hospital in a dual diagnosis role from 2022 to 2023, and moved on to community mental health where I worked as an outpatient clinician from 2023 to 2024, earning my licensure in December of that year.
I have been a mental health counselor for 20 years. I enjoy the process of helping others help themselves. I trust together we can improve your overall life experience. One of the most important things to be looked at is how you interpret experiences and understanding the influence on your moods. Using a journal is a tool to improve your outcomes in therapy. I look forward to meeting you either online or in-person at my home office.
Immediate Openings - Mornings, Afternoons, Early Evenings. Hi. I’m Sheena (she/her), a mental health counselor licensed in Massachusetts. I work with individual clients via telehealth Monday through Thursday. As a Highly Sensitive Person (HSP) myself, I specialize in working with other HSPs (wondering if you might be highly sensitive? Take the self-assessment: https://hsperson.com/test/highly-sensitive-test/). Together, we’ll identify your strengths that you can use to manage the challenges that can come with being highly sensitive (including overwhelm, sensory sensitivities, and irritability). As a member of the queer community, it has been important to me to support LGBTQ+ clients throughout my career. For some clients, their gender identity and sexual orientation is a major part of our work together. For others, it’s reassuring to know they’re working with a supportive, affirming therapist. I am a Certified Body Trust® Provider, meaning I help clients work on their relationship with food and themselves from a weight-inclusive, health-at-every-size stance. Additional areas of focus include anxiety, grief, stress management, self-care, finding your purpose, and relationships. I bring empathy and curiosity into my work as a therapist. I aim to honor the wide spectrum and intersectionality of different cultures, neurotypes, sexuality, and gender of my clients, though there is always more for me to learn. I pull from different modalities to meet your unique needs, including cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, solution-focused therapy, mindfulness, and internal family systems. I am trauma- and neurodiverse-informed. I believe the answers you seek are within you and I am here as a support and guide on your path toward growth, healing, and wellness. I love to use humor in sessions when appropriate. I take a balanced, gentle approach by supporting you to process how you’re feeling and what you’ve experienced. I also think it’s useful for you to learn skills and take action steps in and between sessions to support the change you’re seeking. I am truly honored to be welcomed into your world.
