PMHNP stands for Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I am a nurse practitioner specializing in the treatment of common mental health disorders, such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, insomnia, panic, obsessive compulsive disorder, and mood disorders. I prescribe medication when it is clinically appropriate, as it can be an essential component of a comprehensive treatment plan for many mental health conditions. My approach emphasizes collaboration and informed consent. Any medication decisions are made together, ensuring the patient feels comfortable and supported in his/her/their care. Once prescribed, medications are carefully monitored and adjusted as needed to ensure both safety and effectiveness. Rather than focusing only on symptom management, I take a functional, root-cause approach to understanding each person’s presentation. I am currently completing a functional medicine fellowship to deepen this work, and integrate these principles into my care. This includes using lab testing to uncover underlying imbalances, supporting wellness through nutrition, sleep, and lifestyle, and incorporating nutraceuticals or supplements when appropriate to promote lasting improvement.

I am a thoughtful, warm professional with a good sense of humor. My primary training is in cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), which I integrate with other treatment modalities. I tailor my approach to meet the individual needs of my clients. My aim is to provide a supportive atmosphere where clients can work towards their goals, while learning practical strategies and skills that offer relief. I have experience in treating a range of health issues, with particular specialization in the following areas: anxiety disorders (including OCD), depression, sleep disturbance, and coping with chronic medical issues (including pain disorders and gastrointestinal diseases). I also enjoy working with individuals going through significant transitions, such as adjustment to college.

I share in community and identity BIPOC and LGBTQ+ individuals, and those navigating trauma, sex/sex work/sexuality, grief, identity, and nontraditional relationships. I understand the layered and often systemic challenges we face, especially in intimate spaces like therapy. My goal is to create a safe and supportive space where you can explore your identity, experiences, and relationships with yourself and the world without judgment. Stress, anger, fear, anxiety, sadness can often become overwhelming. We may not know which way to turn for support or understand how to bring about the positive changes we’d like to see happen. Change is possible. You have taken the most important first step--reaching out--and I am here to work with you, making your goals realities. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) and a Registered Expressive Arts Therapist (REAT) with over twenty years of experience working with individuals and families. My approach to counseling is non-judgmental, integrative, and collaborative. I work with you so that, together, we can meet your goals. Expressive Therapy is an important approach I use in therapy and it involves engaging in activities like drawing, storytelling, music, writing as part of the process towards a deeper understanding. It provides the means for us to explore and share authentically who we are, our pain, our joy, and to welcome the support of others on our journey.

Do you have a place where you can be truly heard? Therapy can be that safe, accepting place and that's what I strive to create with you: somewhere for you to bring whatever it is that you're struggling with or the stuff that feels too heavy to bear alone. Maybe your challenges are preventing you from enjoying satisfaction and contentment. Perhaps you are in a period of transition and therapy could be a space to think through decisions so you can feel more confident about your choices. Or maybe you're struggling in a relationship to overcome old patterns that have limited you until now. The good news is that you don't have to face any of this alone. I have accompanied people through these and many other issues, and in therapy we'll identify what is holding you back and help you pick up new tools to tackle these challenges. I have experience working with people from diverse backgrounds, and specialize in working with the LGBTQIA+ community. Contact me today to find out whether we're a good fit to work together!

Contending with life's daily pressures can often make it difficult to feel confident in your ability to thrive - and not just barely survive. Whether you are struggling with anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship issues, or other concerns, therapy is a safe space where you can engage your existing coping skills and support systems while also discovering and implementing additional strategies and resources. I genuinely believe we have the resilience necessary to make meaningful, lasting changes in our lives. I employ an integrated, systemic approach to therapy and bring humility and cultural sensitivity to every interaction. I have specific experience and interest in working with pregnant and postpartum clients, and I incorporate important concepts such as coping with life transitions, communication, and boundary-setting in my work with every client. I offer supportive, affirming therapy empowering clients to achieve satisfaction in making the changes they seek. I also bring respect and compassion to the therapeutic alliance; my active and empathic listening helps clients feel validated/understood. My goal is to be your ally as we explore your innate strengths and foster your sense of self-affirmation.

Trying to hold it together in college can be exhausting. If anxiety is constant, your focus is shot, your mood feels unpredictable, or you’re wondering why everything feels harder than it should — this is where we come in. We’re a small psychiatric practice with two experienced nurse practitioners who specialize in medication management for students. We take the time to understand what’s going on, explain things in plain language, and create a plan that fits your life — not just your symptoms. For anyone who has ever been accused of being too emotional, too sensitive, too wild; for anyone who doesn't fit into the boxes society has created for us; for anyone who has struggled to find their place in the world-- you are the kinds of clients I want to work with. I invite you to join me in an exploration of self, where you are the expert of your own life and I am your guide, supporting you on your path to becoming. With your consent, I will hold space for you and will be honored to be a witness to your growth. What does it mean to hold space? It means the way in which we connect, the way in which I help you to feel safe, knowing that I will accept and validate your feelings and experiences while still holding you accountable, but always with the utmost softness and tenderness. I will assist you in finding your voice- that is, learning how to identify and verbalize what you want and need for yourself and from others. I specialize in working with the LGBTQ+ community, which, as a queer therapist, is extremely important to me. I have a great deal of training and experience in unpacking and exploring different aspects of identity, primarily gender and sexuality. I am skilled in supporting individual clients as well as their families through these journeys.

My approach to therapy is grounded in narrative therapy, with the belief that how you understand and relate to your problems shapes your ability to move forward. Whether it’s depression that leaves you feeling stuck, anxiety that chips away at your confidence, or shame that strains your relationships—we'll explore how these experiences impact your life. Many of these struggles are shaped by external pressures around success, identity, and expectations. In therapy, we’ll work together to uncover what feels authentic and meaningful to you. I offer a collaborative and transparent space for healing. While rooted in narrative therapy, I integrate CBT and DBT techniques to support your growth. My experience includes depression, anxiety, trauma, substance use, life transitions, and relationship challenges. At the heart of my practice is a deep respect for your voice and values. My goal is for you to feel empowered and at the center of your healing process. If you’re feeling disconnected from yourself or your path, we can work together to help you find your way back.

Therapy enables us to heal ourselves and sharpen access to our wisest intuition. As your therapist, I will provide a comfortable space for self-reflection, where you will come to understand yourself at the deepest level. In our work together, you will learn to nurture yourself as you build inner strength and serenity. I’ve worked in community mental health, psychiatric hospitals, outpatient treatment centers, and private practice. Driven by curiosity, empathy, and integrity, my approach is built on the belief that every person is capable of growth. My goal is for you to leave each session feeling seen and understood, and to end therapy as your most authentic self. Though there is always darkness in life, I believe light can be found by those who want to see it. I am not afraid of the dark. Bring me your darkness—your pain, your confusion, your hurt—and we will walk together as you find your guiding lights.
