You want people to think you have it all together, but inside you feel paralyzed with anxiety. You never feel good enough, smart enough, productive enough, etc., can't make decisions, relate accomplishments to worthiness and love, struggle with saying “No,” and can’t find the right balance between work/life. You're exhausted and overwhelmed. You might not even remember a time things didn’t feel this way. But one thing is for sure: you’re ready for some relief. You’re ready to quiet your mind. You’re ready to embrace discomfort now so you can feel confident in yourself later. Most of all, you’re ready to take control of your anxiety. Clients come to me looking for a therapist who can relate to them because therapy should be a place where you feel seen and understood. Sessions are about more than just talking; we will explore how stress affects both your mind & body so you can experience peace again. And we always go at your pace, never pushing to a place you don’t feel ready to be. As an experienced anxiety therapist, I believe that you are capable of managing how you respond to stressful situations. You don’t have to continue feeling overwhelmed, and you don’t have to do it alone. Call me today for a free 15-minute consultation. I can’t wait to hear from you.

We believe that everyone is inherently driven to heal and become the fullest version of themselves. By providing children, adolescents and young adults with support and unconditional acceptance, we allow them to become the leaders of their own healing journey. Play therapy for adults?! It may sound quirky, but the essential values of play therapy (connection, emotional expression, facing your challenges with unconditional support) lend themselves beautifully to anyone’s healing process, no matter your age. Young adulthood is a time of tremendous change and transition, but that doesn’t mean you have to sort through all of those challenges on your own. Therapeutic support can be immensely helpful as you really discover who you are, what you want, and how you want to be in the world. If you are interested in learning more about our services, for you or for your child, please feel free to reach out to us! We are happy to offer you a free 30-min consultation to answer any questions you may have.

Licensed as a Professional Counselor, I work with individuals, couples, families, and groups. Graduating in 1998 from the University of Colorado, I received a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology, with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Studies. I have completed PACT 3 training and EMDR 2 training. I have served as the professional consultant for the Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance for the Longmont/Firestone Chapter. My experience includes working with clients in multiple settings including psychiatric hospitals, public schools, mental health agencies, therapeutic day schools, and residential treatment facilities. Spanning more than 20 years, my therapy practice has evolved to include particular therapeutic theories and techniques that are not only effective in improving the lives of my clients but that also speak to my personal interests and values. In my therapy practice I work with individuals, couples and families facing many life challenges, including mood disorders, anxiety, personality disorders and trauma. My therapeutic approach is predicated on the knowledge that each of us has a family of origin and series of life events that deeply impact the way we function in our current work, family and love relationships. Understanding the "why" of a particular struggle can promote self-understanding, compassion and acceptance, and facilitate healing. Specially trained and certified in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and having utilized it in practice for almost twenty years, I've had the privilege of aiding in the recovery of clients who have endured extreme emotional trauma such as abuse, neglect, combat, death of a loved one and unexpected loss. Utilizing EMDR has had a profound effect on me as I have repeatedly witnessed the relief of suffering and ultimate liberation from the lasting effects of trauma. In couples therapy, I am trained in PACT (Psychobiological Approach to Couple Therapy), which integrates neuroscience, attachment theory and arousal regulation to help explain the ways in which couples relate to one another. The goal of this model is to establish a secure functioning system for the partnership. When not in my office I spend time in our beautiful Colorado with my loving husband of over two decades and my three wonderful children. My family, friends, nature, travel and yoga practice are essential elements of my own personal strength and growth.

Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

Many people arrive at care feeling exhausted, overwhelmed, or discouraged after carrying the weight of their symptoms for far too long. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, burnout, emotional overwhelm, or treatment-resistant symptoms that haven't responded the way you hoped, you deserve more than a rushed appointment and a prescription. You deserve to feel heard and supported, by a clinician who takes the time to listen. As a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, I specialize in medication management and psychiatric diagnosis for adults, and I work with a wide range of individuals who may appear high-functioning on the outside while quietly struggling within. My goal is to create a space that feels collaborative, personalized, and compassionate, one where we work together to understand what's truly contributing to your symptoms and find a treatment approach that fits your life and your goals. Healing doesn’t happen overnight, but meaningful improvement is possible. When you feel ready, I would be honored to be part of your journey. Specialties include adult psychiatric evaluation and medication management, anxiety disorders, depression and treatment-resistant depression, ADHD and executive dysfunction, mood disorders, trauma-related conditions, and burnout. Every person who walks through my door is treated as exactly that: a person, not a diagnosis or a checklist. Care should feel like a partnership, and from your first visit, you can expect to be genuinely included in the decisions about your treatment. I offer comprehensive psychiatric assessments, personalized medication management, diagnostic clarification, and ongoing monitoring to ensure your treatment continues to serve you well over time. For patients who have struggled with difficult medication transitions or treatment failures, I provide supportive guidance through those moments as well. Specialties also include interventional psychiatry, including TMS and IV ketamine therapies. If you are exploring or currently undergoing any of these treatments, you will have a knowledgeable partner alongside you every step of the way. Whatever brings you in, the goal remains the same: to improve your overall functioning and quality of life in a way that feels sustainable and right for you. Growing up in rural West Virginia, I saw firsthand how limited access to mental health resources can be, and how much that gap costs people who deserve support. This early awareness stayed with me. It was during my time working at the Department of Veterans Affairs that I found my direction in psychiatric care, a field where the stakes are high and the need for compassionate, skilled support is undeniable. Personal experience has also shaped the way I show up for my patients. Having watched loved ones navigate mental health challenges, I understand how hard it can be to ask for help and how much it means to find someone who truly listens. That understanding is at the heart of everything I do. When I'm not in the office, you'll find me thrifting, junk journaling, getting lost in a good book, and enjoying creative ventures through Mic & Madds. I'm also a devoted mom to two boys and a full house of animals: three dogs, one cat, two jumping spiders, and two hermit crabs.

I specialize in working with neurodivergent individuals with autism, learning disabilities, intellectual disabilities, and ADHD. I take a neuropositive perspective, which means I want my clients to understand and embrace their neurodivergence while also building awareness of some of the aspects of their neurodivergence that can limit them at times (i.e. mental inflexibility). My approach is warm and empathetic, however I also believe in being direct with my clients and in challenging them to push themselves towards growth and resilience. I use a blend of modalities tailored to the needs of the individual. I like to use rating scales to better understand my clients' areas of strength and need. I believe in setting and resetting goals as therapy progresses. This means I like to remind my clients of our focus, evaluate progress and whether or not the goal still makes sense for them, and adjust accordingly. My hope is that you will better understand yourself and why you do what you do. My goal is that you will gain skills and perspective to be able to effectively cope with the challenges life brings.

It takes courage and humility to seek out a therapist. If your own life, your romantic relationship, or both are leaving you unsatisfied, stuck, or unhappy, I commend you for considering outside help. The support of people whom I trust and who care for me – including my own therapists – has been instrumental to my own healing and growth. I would be honored to provide you with that same partnership in your journey of change. When we combine my training in therapy with your knowledge of who you are and where you want to go, we can identify meaningful goals together and help you progress toward them. Working with couples and individuals, I specialize in treating relationship and intimacy difficulties, men’s issues, and sexual issues. I use emotionally-focused, somatic, and cognitive-behavioral techniques. I bring genuine care, gentle humor, and deep acceptance to each client. In addition to working as a therapist, I am a research psychologist who earned a PhD at the University of Denver. I conduct research on healthy relationships and sexual health and have taught psychology courses at several colleges and universities in the Front Range. These roles help me continually learn how to be a better therapist.
