College is supposed to be some of the best years of your life—or at least that’s what everyone says. But what if it doesn’t feel that way? Maybe you’re constantly stressed about classes, worried about your grades, or overwhelmed by everything on your plate. Maybe you compare yourself to everyone else, feeling like you’re always behind or not doing enough. Or maybe you just feel stuck, unsure of what you want or where you’re headed after graduation. If any of this sounds familiar, you’re not alone. College is hard, and no one gives you a guidebook on how to manage all the pressure. That’s where I come in. I work best with college students who are: 🔹 High achievers who feel burned out—pushing themselves to the limit but still feeling like it’s never enough 🔹 Stressed and overwhelmed—juggling classes, work, and personal life while trying to keep it together 🔹 Struggling with self-doubt and imposter syndrome—feeling like they don’t belong or aren’t “good enough” 🔹 Navigating big life changes—adjusting to college, preparing for life after graduation, or figuring out who they are 🔹 Feeling anxious in social situations—overthinking conversations, avoiding conflict, or struggling with friendships and dating

Do you feel unsatisfied with the path you’re on? I specialize in work with college students and twenty-somethings who are navigating new life stages and want to learn more about themselves. Maybe you’re adjusting to starting/leaving college, or a new job. Or you’re looking to set boundaries as you gain independence from your family. I’m here to help you bridge the gap between your life now and what you want your life to look like, while also giving new meaning to the experiences that led you to where you are. I not only bring educational & professional experience to my practice, but also empathy & realness that comes from confronting my own personal challenges. Anxiety, self-doubt, low-self esteem, perfectionism, job dissatisfaction & relationship issues are common struggles of a quarterlifer as you navigate transitions in your 20s. Together we can separate those problems from who you are as a person, learn about the role they play in your life, develop ways to cope, & move forward towards your ideal life. I also work with those pursuing a career as a therapist. Whether you're a psychology or social work student considering grad school, you're a grad school student adjusting to your internship, or you're wondering if a career as a therapist is for you - I have years of experience helping students navigate the field and find a path that feels right for them.
My name is Liz Kelly. I am a licensed clinical social worker, licensed in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. I have been in the helping field since graduating with my undergraduate degree in Sociology in 2004. I received my master’s degree in Social Work in 2013 and have been a therapist ever since. I have experience working with diverse populations and settings. I am easy to talk to and work from a strength-based/solution focused perspective where you are the expert on you. I use a variety of evidenced based interventions; CBT, mindfulness, traditional talk therapy, and motivational interviewing. For couples, I reference Gottman Method and attachment based theory and effective communication strategies. This field is my passion and my calling. I look forward to working with you on your journey!
I truly believe that everyone has the capacity to grow when they’re in a space that feels safe and accepting. At the heart of my work is building a genuine, trusting connection with you—because real healing begins when you feel truly seen, heard, understood, and accepted. Together, we’ll create a warm and welcoming space where vulnerability is embraced and self-exploration feels comfortable. Above all, I’m here to hold space for you with kindness and openness, honoring your unique needs, passions, experiences, wisdom, and hopes for the future. Specializations I’m especially passionate about supporting adults who grew up with caregivers who, for various reasons, may not have met their emotional needs.Together, we work to heal from those early experiences, find your true voice, clarify what matters most to you, and create a life that feels authentic, grounded, and free. I work with clients ages 15 and up to navigate challenges related to: Childhood relational trauma, emotionally immature parents, & unmet emotional needs Relationship patterns, boundaries, people-pleasing, & guilt Exploring identity, values, & personal growth Identity diffusion & enmeshment Shame, self-doubt, & indecisiveness Life transitions & emerging adulthood Grief & loss Anxiety, depression, & low self-worth Emotional regulation & distress tolerance Could We be a Good Fit? Clients who tend to do well with me often appreciate a little lightheartedness or humor during our sessions and enjoy putting what we talk about into practice between meetings—sometimes through small homework or weekly goals. Many have found it helpful to bring their creative interests into our work, which helps us build a space where you can feel safe, inspired, and free to be your authentic self. I’ve also noticed that adolescents, young adults, and college students often feel especially comfortable and connected in our time together. Therapeutic Approaches My approach to therapy is primarily rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Together, we’ll explore your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors with curiosity and work toward making the changes you’d like to see in yourself. For those who resonate with this approach, I incorporate Internal Family Systems (IFS) to support compassionate exploration of your inner parts. I also use a person-centered and trauma-informed lens, honoring the impact of your life experiences and creating a space where all parts of you are welcome. While CBT and IFS are my go-to methods, I like to keep things flexible, drawing from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI) to tailor our work to what feels right for you. My hope is that you find a space in therapy that feels human, welcoming, and uniquely yours. If you think we might be a good fit, I’d love to connect and explore how we can work together in a way that supports your growth. I currently offer teletherapy sessions at River Wards Wellness Collective.
