Therapists for college students near Temple University
I had a hard time finding a therapist that thought like me when I was a younger. As a member of the LGBT+ community, it is important to me that my clients know I hear the ways that the world is not built for them. Our work in therapy is to find ways to get your needs met in an often unaccommodating or misunderstanding world. I recognize the power of your experiences and how relationships (healthy & unhealthy) can define your perspective on yourself and others. Building a trusting rapport with you as your therapist is my top priority. Together we can make sense of what happened, your reactions, and how to reclaim a sense of self, safety, and belonging in the world by your own definition. I am a pre-licensed clinician based out of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania under supervision of multiple licensed clinicians.

Choosing therapy is a bold step towards positive change. My goal as a therapist is to support you as you move towards personal and relational healing while providing unconditional positive regard, structure for exploration, and nervous system support for staying present with the difficult emotions and re-grounding afterwards. I believe that you make sense and that you are an expert on your own experience. My practice is person-centered and celebrates queer and trans lives, poly and kink relationships, neurodivergent experience, and health at all sizes. I strive to practice cultural humility about experiences, histories, and cultural oppressions that fall outside my own. I use tools from trauma-informed modalities of IFS, EMDR, and Somatic Experiencing. I am open to working with adults, adolescents, and children of families that are willing to commit to family sessions. I enjoy working with people who experience multiple marginalizations and cultural oppressions, artists, writers and activists. Reach out with your questions, current struggles, ideals, and goals to explore if we are the right fit.

Through encouragement and empowerment, we will work to reduce and heal the challenges you face. Having supported a wide variety of clients, I am passionate about working with both men and women to find and maintain freedom from their eating and co-occurring disorders by gently confronting barriers, building on strengths and challenging unhelpful relational and thought patterns. It is never too late to seek help and make change. Together we will help you not only cope with, but recovery from, your eating disorder, understand your emotions, reconnect with your values, and meet the goals you create for yourself. I've worked in various levels of care from inpatient to PHP eating disorder and general mental health programs. No feeling or problem is too big for us to face together. I am also offering clinical supervision to prelicensed professionals in PA and Washington DC who are in, or looking to work in, the eating disorder field. Because I started my career in DC, I have experience supporting those in various government agencies and branches of military.
At Restore relationships we strive to teach the inner connections of life. Much like fungi, humans root themselves through branching off and building new, thriving, fulfilling relationships and connections. How we manage and love in these relationships has a lot to do with how we grew up. Our childhood experiences, traumatic events, and connections with others influence more of our independent being than understood. That’s where our job comes in, helping our clients understand the connections that made a footprint on their beings. By redefining, uncovering, and learning about the relationships in our lives, we begin to shift focus on the most important relationship, the one with ourselves. Restore offers multiple forms of relationship therapy with a depth focus on the family. Therapy is offered by a trained professional specifically educated in marriage and family therapy. Understanding relationships are our most precious gift, it is imperative proper navigation in these relationships is taught. About the owner: Hannah graduated in May of 2019 from Thomas Jefferson University with a Master's in Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) after completing 500 clinical hours. Hannah then served in community mental health as a mobile crisis stabilization therapist providing home/school-based sessions for families in the Northeast. Hannah transitioned into a private group practice in 2021 focusing on couples, individuals, and families. Hannah completed her licensure requirements and received her license in November 2021. Recently Hannah has opened her own practice and is extending hours to accept new clients! A message from Hannah: "Hello, my fellow warriors! I am not your average therapist, I am an unfiltered therapist discussing, supporting, and rallying for all challenges, transitions, and celebrations we undergo in this life! Please join me as we experience the power of the therapeutic relationship while discovering hidden generational patterns, identities, and a whole list of potential possibilities! I look forward to witnessing this journey with you!"
Life can be full of challenges and tribulations that can impact our well being and mental health. I believe our inherent resiliency and adaptability as humans help us overcome the many challenges that we face. Therapy allows for a person to be their true self, and to have their strengths and talents fully recognized. My work with clients is grounded in acceptance, validation, and empathy. I strive to create a safe environment for my clients to begin the process of change and growth. From my perspective, psychotherapy is about lasting change, and gaining the insight and tools needed to make that change. One of the strengths of therapy is to be heard without being judged or told how to feel or think. Therapy can lead to greater insight than simply talking to family and friends. It can offer encouragement and support for you to take a new step toward lasting change. Although change can be challenging at first, we are often called to it because something is just not working. Establishing a trusting relationship with a therapist can help bridge the gap between the anxiety to change, and the change needed to engage in a more fulfilling life. If you feel ready to take the next step, please contact me to set up an appointment.

Life throws a lot our way, right? Life transitions, school and work dilemmas, family stuff, that nagging feeling you haven't quite figured it all out. Maybe life feels overwhelming right now. Whatever is on your mind, I'm here to tell you that you don't have to go it alone. This won’t feel overwhelming clinical, and it won’t be a vent session either (unless you want it to be). Our time together will help bring clarity and perspective to equip you with the skills and strategies you need to flourish. We are not just going to talk. We'll work together to find solutions and build the concrete skills you need to thrive. Therapy with me isn't confined to a stuffy office. It's a space where we can chat, laugh, and even take a walk (because sometimes fresh air can do wonders for the mind!). Feeling overwhelmed can happen at any age. That's why I specialize in supporting adults and teenagers as they navigate life's challenges. Ready to take that next step? I offer convenient online therapy sessions, or if you're near the Philadelphia suburbs, we can even get some fresh air with walk-and-talk therapy. (It really can work wonders!) Love the beach vibes? I also offer walk-and-talk life coaching in Ocean City, NJ, during the summer months. Let's talk about how I can support you on your journey.
