School can be some of the most rewarding years of your life but they can also be overwhelming. Between classes, internships, work, relationships, family expectations, finances, and figuring out who you are and where you're headed, sometimes it's good to have some extra support. Therapy gives you a place to talk openly about what's going on, without judgment. Whether you're feeling anxious, stressed, burned out, stuck, lonely, or simply trying to make sense of a major life transition, you don't have to navigate it alone. I work with college and graduate students on concerns such as anxiety, self-esteem, relationships, identity exploration, gender identity, academic stress, life transitions, binge eating, and body image. Many of my clients are also learning how to manage life on their own for the first time and are discovering that no one ever really taught them how to handle the emotional side of money. As a Certified Financial Social Worker, I can help you develop a healthier relationship with money, spending, debt, budgeting, and financial decision-making. Together, we can explore both the practical and emotional aspects of financial wellness so you feel more confident and in control. My style is warm, supportive, and down-to-earth. I'll meet you where you are, help you build on your strengths, and offer practical tools along the way. If you're curious about working together, I'd be happy to schedule a free 15-minute consultation to see if we're a good fit.

It's hard to change - but with support it becomes possible. You might be struggling with difficult thoughts like "what if my family never accepts my life choices - will they ever accept me?" Perhaps you're battling indecisiveness and fear about whether you're "good enough" to succeed, preventing you from reaching your aspirations and goals? Or maybe you feel confident and successful at times, but at other moments as if your shield for taking on the world is paper-thin? I specialize in the management of anxiety, fear, and depression - especially during times of actual or desired transition - that show up as feeling stuck or uncertain in your personal and professional life. My practice provides a safe and supportive environment to explore your challenges, resolve your concerns and help you get back to living your life again. I am able to accept both Aetna and Independent Health insurance plans.

Making the choice to pursue therapy is an investment in yourself. Therapy is a journey that is shaped by the relationship established between the therapist and the client. Regardless of how the pursuit of therapy evolved, I aim to establish a relationship based on trust, honesty, humor, and respect. These qualities are imperative in working through the difficulties that can disrupt life and relationships. Together we will work toward the fulfillment of your goals and potential.

Life often brings us to a crossroads - where old perspectives, ways of feeling and being meet a desire for something new. Self-criticism, pain from past hurt, and fear of the future can create distance from a sense of aliveness, and hold us back from meaningful change. Over time, this may show up as relationship conflict, lack of purpose, feeling confused or numb, anxious, or depressed. Often these patterns are rooted in early relationships or unresolved experiences that shape how we view the world, attach and relate. I see therapy as a process of helping clients reconnect with themselves; rebuilding clarity, self-trust, and agency. Therapy with me is collaborative, authentic, and most importantly - rooted in the safety and trust of relationship. It is important to me to balance authenticity, warmth and humor, with honesty and directness. I offer traditional talk therapy and somatic practices that help you understand, process, and relate to your emotions - and whole self - in new ways.

I am a clinical psychologist licensed in New York. I live and work in Ithaca, where I see clients both virtually, via video conference, and in person at my home office. I work with individuals from young adult to senior. My primary approaches are dynamic and Person Centered. I am also very comfortable with more solutions focused therapies like CBT and am trained in specialty approaches including CBT-i (CBT for insomnia), Motivational Interviewing, and Prolonged Exposure. I work with individuals seeking personal growth, exploring their relationships past and present, managing life transitions, and addressing anxiety, depresssion, and insomnia. College years are stressful, and the traditional “college years” are years of intense personal change and development. It is a crucial time to have support, to examine the self, to grow into your own preferences and potential. I use Headway for billing and scheduling - please visit my website to arrange a consultation to have a conversation to help us both decide if my practice is a good fit for your needs. The prices posted for initial and follow up sessions are for cash pay - if I am in network with your insurance, it is accepted as payment in full, although you may also have a co-pay depending on your coverage. When you go to my website you will notice that I offer initial 10 minute phone consultation at no charge. These are not treatment, but are designed to give us both a chance to see if my practice is a good fit for you and your therapy needs. I look forward to speaking with you
