I am constantly inspired by people who have the strength, courage, and motivation to open themselves to a shift in perspective. Those who take a fresh look at the things impacting their lives. My role is to listen, empathize, challenge, and offer suggestions or alternatives to help you build a more robust set of tools to assist in your journey. Through this collaborative process, we will navigate those obstacles together. Sometimes having someone in your corner to help open new doors can make all the difference.
While life’s challenges are inevitable, our suffering doesn’t have to be. I am here to empower you to take on these challenges with confidence! I work with children, teens, & young adults struggling with stress, anxiety, self-esteem, life transitions, emotional regulation, familial issues, ADHD, & more. My experience as a former school counselor provides a unique perspective of the daily struggles of today’s youth and I am passionate about helping families work together to set their children up for success. I also enjoy working with young adults as they begin to figure out who they are while transitioning into a more independent individual. My work with clients is rooted in CBT, with a person-centered and holistic approach and includes principles of mindfulness to help empower clients to feel in control of their own mind and unlearn patterns that prevent you from living life to the fullest. I am a firm believer that we can harness the power of our own minds and use its strengths for good. I strive to bring a warm, empathetic energy to sessions and allow individuals to feel welcome and accepted exactly as they are, providing a sense of validation, comfort, and trust. Have you been resonating with the autistic experience that you're seeing others talk about? Are you suffering from autistic burnout after a lifetime of heavily masking your “real self”? Do you hold yourself to ridiculously high standards, then feel defeated when things don’t go perfectly? Is your connection with others not quite what you pictured it being at this stage in life? Does work completely exhaust you, but you can’t quite find a job that lights you up? I offer Autism evaluations and therapy to adults.
Meaningful relationships help maintain mental and physical health and can be an antidote to stress. When our core relationships are struggling or when we're struggling to build core relationships, the stress and loneliness can permeate all aspects of our lives. Relational stress and loneliness are reasons many people seek the support of a therapist. Through therapy, clients can explore relationship patterns and barriers preventing them from making and maintaining meaningful and warm connection with others. Treatment can include treating symptoms of social anxiety, exploring discomfort with intimacy, navigating conflict, setting boundaries, and voicing needs. In addition to individual therapy, family and couple therapy can provide insight into system dynamics. Clients learn to recognize and change negative cycles and build deeper and more positive bonds. If you are dissatisfied with your relationships and are ready to work toward change, meeting with a therapist is a great place to start. If you’re not sure if individual, couple, or family therapy is the right choice, a free consultation with a therapist to discuss options can be helpful. If you think I might be a good fit, please reach out.

My ideal client is those ready to put in the healing work.
Dr. Dietz's work as a psychologist is rooted in the belief that there is healing power in connection and in sharing one’s story. She works to provide an affirming space that allows clients to explore their experiences and challenges in a more nuanced and compassionate manner. Human beings have an innate need to feel seen and understood. In an increasingly isolating world, therapy offers clients the opportunity to feel less alone in their struggles, while also offering practical coping skills and strategies for growth. Sarah adopts a collaborative approach with clients, to ensure therapy is addressing goals that are valuable and relevant to each individual. Sarah is intentional about approaching clinical work with a multicultural lens as a means of acknowledging and honoring all aspects of clients’ identities and lived experiences. Sarah utilizes a trauma-informed and grief-informed framework to avoid pathologizing normative reactions to trauma and loss. Sessions will often include psychoeducation to help clients better understand and contextualize their challenges, experiences, and reactions.
College can feel like constant pressure — perform well, make the right choices, keep it together, don’t fall behind. I work especially well with high-achieving students who look like they have it handled on the outside but feel anxious, overwhelmed, or stuck internally. Whether it’s performance anxiety, burnout, perfectionism, relationship stress, or just feeling like you’re never doing “enough,” we’ll work together in a structured, practical way. I use evidence-based tools (primarily CBT) to help you understand how your thoughts, emotions, and habits are connected — and to build skills you can actually use between sessions. My goal is to create a supportive space where you can be real, feel understood, and leave with strategies that help you move forward with more confidence and clarity. I offer virtual therapy and accept multiple major insurance plans. Book directly through my scheduling link at the bottom of this page to verify insurance and availability.
You push yourself to meet expectations—at work, in relationships, in every aspect of life—because failure isn’t an option. But no matter how much you achieve, that nagging voice in your head keeps telling you it’s not enough. You overanalyze your mistakes, replay conversations in your head, and wonder why you can’t just relax and feel good about where you are. The pressure is relentless. You feel like you’re sprinting toward an invisible finish line that keeps moving. The weight of expectations—your own and everyone else’s—presses down on you. Maybe you’ve convinced yourself that if you can just work harder, be better, prove your worth, you’ll finally feel okay. But deep down, you’re exhausted. And you’re starting to wonder: Does it really have to be this way? It doesn’t. Therapy can help you step off the hamster wheel of perfectionism and self-doubt. Together, we’ll identify what’s fueling the pressure, challenge the patterns that keep you stuck, and help you build a life that feels authentic, balanced, and actually fulfilling—on your terms. I help young adults and teens break free from perfectionism, self-doubt, and external pressures to build confidence and live authentically.
