My name is Buck, I am relatable, empathic, and easy to talk to. I love working with teenagers and adults of all ages, including athletes. My clinical specialties include working with athletes struggling with performance anxiety, depression, burnout, difficult life transitions, occupational stress, low self-esteem and self-confidence, stress management. Clients who have made the most progress working with me have been those who identify as athletes or other performers, teenagers and adults of any gender. Regardless of athletic ability, I am always happy to be someone's teammate in their therapy process. Obtaining my dual master’s degrees in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Sport and Human Performance was just the start of my ongoing learning. Interventions I commonly focus on most include values identification, reframing thinking patterns, boundary setting, mindfulness, motivation exploration, and emotional regulation. As an athlete myself, I have experienced performance anxiety that led to difficult athletic transitions as well as the struggle of what my identity entailed beyond college. A combination of personal experience and supporting clients has allowed me to fully understand the grueling nature of attempting to juggle many obligations and roles in life that can create the feeling of being “spread too thin” and leading to potential burnout. My hope is to create a strong sense of rapport from our first session, creating a safe and comfortable atmosphere, where we can collaborate to help you identify and reach your therapy goals to promote an enhanced quality of life.
I am a board certified Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner that treats adults and adolescents. I completed my undergraduate studies at the University of Kentucky and received my graduate degree from Northern Kentucky University. I began my career as a registered nurse working at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. I treat patients with a variety of mental health disorders including depression, anxiety, OCD, bipolar disorder, PTSD, and ADHD. I believe in the importance of building a long lasting relationship with my patients by providing an individualized approach to treatment. I always encourage my patients to be an active participant in their treatment and I am committed to working together with them to reach their unique goals. I understand that seeking treatment for mental health disorders is difficult but encourages those in need to do so, as everyone deserves to be happy and healthy. I am focused on providing evidence based treatment through the use of medication and nonpharmacologic treatments. She received her undergraduate degree in nursing from Georgetown University. Kimberly obtained her MSN from Johns Hopkins University, where she specialized in Women’s Health and Nurse-Midwifery. She also attended the University of Texas at Austin, where she earned a Post-Master’s Certificate and specialized as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. Kimberly has over 15 years of experience in women’s health and 5 in mental health. She remains passionate about women’s health, and as such, is pursuing certification in perinatal mood and anxiety disorders. We love working with college students. Our team brings a wealth of experience working in college counseling centers, helping undergrads and grad students navigate the unique demands of balancing school and life. We provide individual, couple, and family therapy to students of all ages and in all phases of life, and we offer assessment/testing to identify issues such as ADHD or learning challenges, so that students can show up with personalized strategies and skills to best support their learning. Beyond challenges that can emerge academically, we know that students struggle with trauma, anxiety, depression, or other mental health concerns, and they often need help managing relationships, making big decisions, or dealing with pressures or demands in their families. Daniel earned his MA in Community Counseling from Loyola University Chicago and has extensive training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) that informs his use of other evidence-based practices such as CBT, ACT, and Exposure Therapy. My approach to therapy is individualized, attentive, direct, and flexible. Guided by Lacanian psychoanalysis and grounded in social justice, I offer patients a space to speak freely about their suffering, history, questions, wishes, fantasies, and desires. I listen carefully for the unconscious in their patients’ speech, focusing on the unique complexity of each patient. Speaking, listening, and being heard in this way opens up new possibilities for ways of relating to oneself and others. This approach works for a wide variety of concerns, including those that are difficult to put into words. I offer individual art and talk therapy to patients of all ages who are willing to speak about their suffering and learn new things about themselves. I also provides couples and relationship counseling to partners, exes, and roommates. I reserve a number of appointments each week for sliding scale patients. Susan offers online therapy for ADHD, depression, and anxiety for students within Illinois. She offers coaching, for which insurance will not pay, to provide accountability toward the student's goals. Using a strengths-based and solution-focused perspective, she helps students calm their minds so they can focus, stay organized, and coach themselves toward their social and academic goals. Susan works with college and graduate students with the following concerns: -social anxiety -perfectionism -self-criticism and self-compassion -talking out career or graduate program decisions -relationship concerns -family issues, including anger, grief, developing an identity that may conflict with parents' identities. Sessions can be held during the weekday or Saturday morning. Sessions are typically 50-minutes long.
