As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with more than 22 years of experience, I specialize in supporting adolescents, adults, and their families as they navigate mental health-related challenges. I take a warm, thoughtful approach that is grounded in empathy in order to better help you heal from issues such as anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), ADHD, trauma, life transitions, and relational conflicts. If you are seeking clarity, relief, and the tools to move forward with greater confidence and connection, please reach out today. I look forward to helping you build practical strategies to navigate stress, deepen self-understanding, and foster resilience. Working together, you can expect a safe, warm, and nonjudgemental space adapted to your unique needs and goals. I believe in meeting people where they are, with compassion, curiosity, and respect, which helps me be a steady and attuned partner in your healing process. Throughout our time together, I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), narrative therapy, and solution-focused approaches, as well as exposure response prevention techniques. This collaborative style is designed to support you in your personal growth, resilience, and sense of possibility. My path to becoming a therapist was shaped by a deep curiosity about how people heal and grow. Over time, this passion evolved into a lifelong commitment to providing integrative, compassionate care. Now I am dedicated to bringing a bio-psycho-social lens to each session, honoring the complexity of every person’s story. I enjoy a wide range of hobbies outside the office to keep my mind and body active! These include watching movies and shows, reading, playing video games, practicing my photography skills, and crafting.

I enjoy working with college-aged students and graduate students who are seeking a warm and comforting environment for therapy. I believe that the safe, supportive, and trusting relationship between the therapist and client is the most important element of therapy. I am known for using humor in sessions and helping people through the adjustment to college life. I specialize in helping teens and young adults with anxiety, stress and depression. I use Client-centered counseling, as well as other evidence based approaches in my work. I would be honored to help you navigate your college experience and beyond.

Through therapeutic methods I can help you find clarity about your goals, build healthier relationships, and ultimately reach your full potential. It's incredibly rewarding to witness your growth and self-discovery as you overcome challenges and embrace your unique journey. I utilize a variety of methods in my therapeutic practice. Some methods used include: EMDR, CBT, Solutions Focused, Acceptance and Commitment, Humanistic, Family, Systems, and Internal Family Systems. I also like to include art, music, and somatic practices in my sessions. If you are looking to begin therapy, or have questions about what therapy can do for you, I'm happy to chat. You may find yourself thinking, “I should be further along by now,” yet feel stuck going through the motions of life. At times, emotions may feel overwhelming, while at other moments you feel numb or disconnected. Life, like the ocean, comes in waves. Some sets are gentle, and others are surging. In those moments when the current sweeps you out know that you don’t have to swim alone. I support individuals working through anxiety, depression, and trauma. I am here to wade in the water with you, sit at the water’s edge, or hold space until the tide shifts, and the tides always shift. My approach to therapy is rooted in creating safety, collaboration, and respect for your lived experience. I view therapy as a sacred space where I meet you where you are, support you through vulnerable moments, and honor your journey as it ebbs and flows. Together, we work to build coping skills, connection, and capacity for healing. If this resonates, I invite you to reach out. You can call me or send me a message to begin exploring whether we’re a good fit.

My work is motivated by my passion for human connection. At Thrive, I offer therapy for both couples and individuals, supporting clients’ inquiry into how they experience their own BELONGING and how they can access more joy and meaning in their relationship with themselves, the ones they love, and the world around them. I earned a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Naropa University, with a concentration in Mindfulness-Based Transpersonal Psychology. My approach to therapy incorporates my training in Gestalt Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for Couples, Internal Family Systems (IFS), as well as her decade of experience in teaching yoga and working outside. I also enjoy incorporating the Enneagram into my work with clients, which can serve as a powerful tool for spiritual and relational development. Though I am not a native speaker, Sydney is bilingual in both English and Spanish and welcomes working with native Spanish speakers who might be yearning for a space to speak both in their therapeutic work. I also have both personal and professional experience working with the impacts of a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and feels passionate about supporting clients who are navigating those challenges.

I use humor and a direct, warm approach along with evidence based techniques such as CBT, DBT, and Internal Family Systems to help you feel genuinely understood while you gain the tools you need to thrive. I believe in the power of real human connection. Everyone deserves to feel heard, understood, and valued exactly as they are. My style is warm, client-centered, and grounded in curiosity. Alongside open dialogue, I use evidence-based approaches like ACT and DBT to help you manage anxiety, build stronger coping tools, and navigate life’s curveballs. I work with adults (18+) facing big transitions: starting college, figuring out who you are, exploring relationships and sexuality (including LGBTQ+ identities), or feeling stuck between worlds. As a bisexual therapist and someone who’s moved across cultures, I get what it’s like to question where you belong or how to move forward. I also support clients dealing with health challenges, athletic injuries, sexual health, chronic illness, eating disorders, and body image concerns. Outside of therapy, you’ll find me adventuring in the mountains. I see therapy a lot like a tough hike: challenging, sometimes uncomfortable, but deeply rewarding. I’m honored to walk alongside you as you find your own path.

A tending space for LGTBQ+ and/or Neurodivergent individuals and couples and for folks with complex trauma. If you’ve learned to survive by shrinking, masking, or staying vigilant, you’re not broken—you adapted. Healing doesn’t require forcing change, but moving at the speed of trust and rhythm of safety with someone attuned alongside you. Feeling overwhelmed, behind, anxious, unsure, or like you’re constantly juggling too much? College can bring intense pressure to perform, stay productive, and have a plan—often while managing relationships, family expectations, finances, and questions about who you’re becoming. Even when things are going well academically or socially, many students carry a quiet sense of stress, self-doubt, or disconnection that’s hard to put into words. College is often referred to as the “best years of your life,” yet it’s also a time of major transition and identity formation. You may be making important decisions about your future while still figuring out what you value, what you want, and how to trust yourself. It’s common to feel stuck, anxious, or alone during this period—especially when it seems like everyone else is more confident or has things figured out. How We’ll Work Together I pay close attention to the tension many young adults feel between the part of them seeking stability and the part longing for meaning. It’s common to feel torn between wanting security—a solid job, steady relationships, a clear plan—and wanting a life that feels authentic, purposeful, and alive. In our work, we’ll explore this inner conflict with curiosity rather than judgment and find a way forward that integrates both of these core desires. Many young adults also carry a quiet sense of “I should be further along by now,” shaped by family expectations, social comparison, and cultural pressure. Together, we’ll slow down these narratives and build a relationship to yourself that’s based on honesty, compassion, and your actual needs—not someone else’s timeline. We’ll explore patterns in your relationships, clarify your values, likes, and dislikes, and build skills that help you move through the world with more confidence and ease. Therapy becomes a place to practice new ways of relating: setting boundaries, being more authentic, understanding your emotional patterns, and building healthier relationships. We’ll look at where your values, instincts, and longings are trying to guide you, and how to make choices that align with who you’re becoming.

I believe in a body centered, mindful approach that combines evidenced based nutrition practices, resulting in an integrative and holistic approach to better nutrition, improved energy, increased mental clarity and optimal health. I enjoy helping clients develop strategies to meet their nutrition and health goals by finding foods that fit for each individual person. I do this, most importantly, by listening to their stories and experiences, honoring their unique bodies and coming up with nutrition protocols that address issues related to different disease states, food choices, supplementation and lifestyle interventions. I work often with the following conditions: eating disorders, gut health, chronic conditions, weight issues, nutrient deficiencies, food sensitivities/allergies, cardiovascular conditions, mental health and nutrition, immune related conditions and overall nutrition challanges.

I was raised in a commune-style farm setting in rural Pennsylvania, and earned my BA from Middlebury College and then my MA in counseling psychology from Lesley College. I am currently pursuing her certificate in Modern Psychoanalysis at the Academy for Clinical and Applied Psychoanalysis in Livingston, NJ. I am a mother of three and a longtime practitioner of yoga, meditation, and Jin Shin Jyutsu (Japanese acupressure). These practices inform my interest in the well-being of the whole person. I provide a safe and comfortable space where you can explore the parts of your life that you value and also the parts you may want to change. My approach is to cultivate a sense of curiosity and kindness while supporting you in saying whatever is on your mind. As we put our thoughts and feelings into words, we tend to grow more comfortable in ourselves, even in the midst of discomfort. We may find ourselves in more positive relationships at home, at school, and at work. We may find more clarity about how we want to live our lives. Whether in person or online, I see the therapeutic process as a catalyst for reflection, exploration, self-understanding, and personal growth. Together, we will work to understand the richness of who you are and resolve whatever is getting in the way of achieving your personal and professional goals.

In these difficult times, managing life's demands is often challenging. Anxiety, depression, and frustration may feel overwhelming and impossible to overcome. Seemingly obvious solutions often make it worse. For example, worrying about being anxious or avoiding anxiety arousing situations only increase the problem. However, there are effective coping strategies that help. I offer practical alternatives in a warm and supportive environment.
