Sarah Malavenda
I am a collaborative, non-judgemental therapist whose goal is to work together in a hands-on way to find the healing process that works best for you. I use a trauma-informed, sex-positive, and neurodiversity-affirming lens to help folks better understand the patterns and cycles that aren’t working and figure out how to change them.
In my work with individuals, I support those looking to address challenges such as anxiety, trauma, and sex. As someone who lives with a chronic illness, I am passionate about supporting folks wherever they are in their journey of managing chronic illness, disability, and navigating the complexities of the healthcare system.
In my work with couples, I support folks looking for help with relationship issues within monogamous and ethically non-monogamous relationships. Often, this includes improving communication, reducing conflict, and addressing sexual discrepancies.
I strongly believe that the therapeutic relationship is an essential component of therapy, so I offer an approach based on trust and respect while bringing my genuine and authentic self. My style is warm, direct, and collaborative. I offer reflections in a supportive way so you leave sessions feeling informed and grounded rather than overwhelmed or stuck. With this, I strive to support my clients so they don’t feel alone when things get messy or when they need a bit of humor and lightness to brighten their day.
